When I look at people or the items they’ve treasured, my imagination goes to the story each is telling. I hear a master story-teller introducing a character, progressively unfolding the tale, guiding my imagination to give life to the story.
For my art, I get inspiration from the depth of our shared human experience, and for me each scene has its own compelling narrative. Each of these pieces starts with a photograph that I've made, a moment frozen in time, then I allow the image to tell its tale as I add encaustic wax and build layers and textures. As each individual piece evolves, I endeavor to move beyond story-telling into story-making.
And I challenge you to complete the story in your imagination!
